Feria Inernacional de los Pueblos in FuengirolaFrom 28th April to the 2nd May 2016, Fuengirola celebrates one of the most important events in its calendar: The “Feria Internacional de los Pueblos” (International People’s Fair).

This unique fair has grown to become a reference at local, regional and even international level. For four days, the Fuengirola fair ground will be home to a fun and multicultural event for all the family.

Visit Sohail Castle in Fuengirola: Entrance is Now Free!

The grounds of Sohail Castle in FuengirolaFuengirola’s councilor in charge of Culture recently announced that access and visits to the city’s impressive Sohail Castle will now be free for all visitors – it used to cost 3€ for adults and 2€ for children!

Opening times are between 10:00am and 2:00pm daily from Tuesday to Sunday (closed Mondays), plenty of time for visitors to walk around this iconic building with centuries of history behind it (see below). Read More…

Fuengirola’s Erotic Tapas Route: A “Spicy” Gastronomic Adventure

Erotic Tapas Route in Fuengirola On the 30th October 2015, our neighbouring town of Fuengirola kicks off the 7th edition of the “Ruta dela Tapa Erótica” (Erotic Tapas Route), a simple and original idea which, since the first edition, has become a reference all over Spain.

Up until the 15th November, visitors to Fuengirola will be able to enjoy this traditional Spanish snack, with a slightly “spicy” touch. This year, the route sees 100 different establishments take part, each preparing a sensual and fun tapa, with creativity and flair being the main ingredients.

Anyone who visits one of the participating restaurants or bars will be able to sample one of these “erotic” tapas and a cool beer for a – very reasonable – €2. Read More…

From the 6th to the 12th October all who visit Fuengirola are in for a fun and entertaining time! The ‘Feria del Rosario’ (named after the town’s patron saint) is the perfect opportunity to experience a true taste of Spanish culture.

During the day you can visit many of the different ‘casetas’ where your flamenco dancing skills will be put to the test! Food Truck Festival at the Sohail Castle in Fuengirola

Food Truck event in FuengirolaFoodies are in for a treat this weekend as Fuengirola’s Sohail Castle hosts Andalusia’s first ever Food Truck Festival.

From the 20th to the 23rd August, this unique event promises a fabulous gastronomic experience as well as music and entertainment for all the family. These food trucks will offer around 15 different street food options, most from local establishments.

Equipped with modern kitchens and appliances it’s amazing what these chefs can rustle up in such a tight space: succulent and tasty dishes at very reasonable prices. Fuengirola’s Great Beer Festival 2015 at the Sohail Castle

 

Grand Beer Festival Fuengirola 2015The spectacular Sohail Castle in Fuengirola will, once again, host the city’s very own ‘Oktoberfest’: the 8th Grand Beer Festival.

This fun beer festival (Oktoberfest Olé) opens to the public from the 3rd July to the 19th July. If you’re a beer lover, this is one stop you’ll have to make during your holiday. You’ll be able to sample the finest Bavarian beers and tasty dishes including german sausages, frikadellen and chucrut. All this accompanied by live music from a true German orchestra! They even have a special kids area with organised activities to keep the little ones amused :-).

A special feature this year will be the new VIP area offering a more personalised service and located away from the hustle and bustle of the main festival. From the 31st October to the 16th November, local residents and visitors to Fuengirola will be able to enjoy one of town’s most popular events of the year and a must-visit for fans of the traditional Spanish tapa!

A hundred bars and restaurants have already signed up for this year’s edition, that’s twenty two more than last year! Of these one hundred businesses, twenty six are taking part for the first time and many are newly opened.
